Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection work related to civil, electrical/communications, mechanical, structural, roofing, and general contracting to ensure compliance with plans and specifications;
• Ensure work is in compliance with approved plans and specifications of each project along with approved means, methods, and procedures; and
• Receive assignments from and report to the MATOC Program Manager, WMATA Task Manager, or designated representative.

Requirements

Background and Experience Required

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience as civil, mechanical, structural, roofing, and general contracting inspector;
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting multiple tasks;
• Practical knowledge of engineering and construction practices and disciplines, as well as of the codes and regulations relating to different technical areas of construction; and
• Successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course.

Benefits

1099 Rate Range: $70 – $90

Location:  WMATA New Carrollton Office Building, 4100 Garden City Dr, Hyattsville, MD 20785 (Full-Time, 18 months (subject to renewal) - Onsite)

Construction Inspectors shall be required to be on the construction site to perform the stated Scope of Work. The normal work hours will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Frida y, however, Construction Inspectors may be required nights and weekends, as necessary. When Construction Inspectors are between projects or construction is cancelled for the day, they are to report to WMATA’s New Carrollton Headquarters or upon approval, to another WMATA building.
